The physio awaits...

Yeah, the right leg/shin is causing concern again.

A pretty uninspiring week, made all the worse by foregoing a club hitout (albeit only a 1500) for a BBQ at one of Jen's friends - it was a very good afternoon/evening actually, but I may be pushing it for qualifying for 1500m/5000m events if I miss any more.

No long run this week, just 50 minutes on the bike followed by 50 minutes of easy running (est 11 or so kms), so this is playing on the mind a bit. Yesterday's session was interesting - indoors, 15 x 500m with 45 second recovery at about 3:12-3:15 minute pace, flanked by 2km warm up & cool down. This was my competitive hitout of sorts. Wednesday and Thursday weren't any good, Friday was a nice 35 minutes in the Newport Lakes in the wee AM hours before the rains ambushed us.

The job interview wasn't successful. I'm disappointed but not surprised, the interview wasn't brilliant - this just means being proactive in seeing in what else is out there or simply starting totally afresh at the current location. It's a bit like the running and the body at the moment - taking a step backwards before taking two forwards.

As soon as the physio appointment has concluded I'll plan my attack from here on in. I'm bracing myself for a repeat of '06-07 (stressies), but again, let's wait and see.

A question re the leg?

Is it the lighter shoes or is it the tready, why O why is there a prob again? I'm assuming these are the questions you may be asking??

Stu that's a really good question to which I don't know the answer. I've run in the lighter shoes about 3 times - all in competition of no longer than 10K. The tready & running on inclines? That too has sprung to mind, as it might be a camber thing.

The difficulties are more first thing in the morning & walking, as perhaps the ol' endorphins kick in on the run but there's a little compensation going on, particularly early on in the run.

I'm really hoping some shelf orthotics might be a solution, but time will tell. Unless he orders me not to run, I'll be racing a 1500/5K on Sat & the GAR next Sunday.

Hey Bro,

Chin up man. They say the darkest hour is before the dawn so maybe good times ahead.
Will see you guys mid January for a hitout.
Cheers
